Big "Mac" Macintosh is a member of the Apple family and Applejack's older brother. He was first seen in episode 1 during the Apple family reunion. He didn't speak until episode 4. Big Mac is one of the recurring members of the Apple family.
History
Big Macintosh was first seen during the Apple family reuinion when Twilight Sparkle first arrived into Ponyville. Although he was mentioned by name and referred to in following episodes he didn't speak until in the episode Applebuck Season.
In episode 4 he was shown to have sustained some form of injury which made him unable to help with the annual apple harvesting. It is unknown as to how exactly he got this injury.
Personality
Big Mac is shown to have a rather calm and easy-going demeanor to contrast with his sister Applejack's more stubborn attitude. He seems to be a pony of few words and like the rest of his family he speaks with a southern accent.
